Rhymes of Bharat
The Spirit of Bharat
The spirit of our Bhartiya culture has perished.
I find it hard to believe that
I can do something to change this world.
The truth is amply clear:
"Self-realization is the essence of life"
is nothing but a lie.
"Only worldly pleasures can bring happiness."
In the future, I will tell my children
these are not my top priority.
My friends and colleagues will see
my heart is clear about my priorities because
money and comforts
matter more than
spiritual knowledge.
This, I must confess:
Our temples and sacred traditions thrived
once upon a time.
Society of Bharat was illuminated by dharma.
But these things will change soon.
This is a selfish, money-minded society.
Our children have no interest in our ancient knowledge.
And, wise men tell me,
"Soon, Sanskrit and our ancient wisdom will vanish."
I refuse to believe
I will live in a land of revival of the glorious.
In the years ahead,
moral decay will be the norm.
No longer will it be said that
we care about Indian culture and heritage.
It will be clear that
my generation is lost and indifferent.
It is naive to think
there is hope.
Now, read the same poem from bottom to top
There is hope.
